Creating 3D Shapes

Today we worked in groups of six to create
six different 3D shapes for a shape mobile.

It was fun and challenging. We all worked
 cooperatively and completed the shapes.
After we had made them we wrote some instructions for how to make a 3D shape. Why don't you have a go? You will need to demonstrate perseverance.

How to Make a 3D Shape

You will need:
  • a net (you can find these at this website)
  • crayons /colouring pencils / felt pens
  • scissors
  • craft glue
Instructions

  1. Colour the net in.
  2. Cut the net out (be sure to leave the black lines).
  3. Fold along all the black lines.
  4. Put glue on one shaped flap.
  5. Stick that flap to the shape it needs to join to.
  6. Hold it in place while the glue sets.
  7. Do Steps 4 - 6 as many times as you need to create your 3D shape.
  8. Cut out the name label.
  9. Glue it onto the shape.
