Bathing a Beautiful Baby

We were so lucky on Thursday because Lucy's baby brother Oliver came to school for his bath. We have written this acrostic poem about the experience.

Oh -the excited children gather near
Look how carefully Pip peels his clothes off
Into the bath Oliver slips on Pip’s arm
Very lazily he lies back in the warm water
Each child watches and listens interestedly
Rippling water hits the edge of the bath
Sparkling smiles burst from Oliver’s face
Beautiful baby chuckles
As children admire his chubby chops
The towel is set ready
He is lifted out and dried - you twinkle, little star!

When he had had his bath and was dressed you sang him Twinkle, twinkle, little star. Thanks for bringing him along Pip. You were a little star Oliver and you certainly twinkle. Pip said he had a three hour sleep when he got home.

For an acrostic poem you write the theme of the poem down the left hand side then come up with a line for each letter. It sounds easy but it's actually pretty hard. We found it best to write a brainstorm of all the ideas we wanted to write about.
