News Flash

Today Room 17 had a milky moment in their learning day. At last the Milk in Schools programme had come to St Albans School.

At 11.30 the milk bell rang and Millie, today’s milk monitor, went with her trusty sidekick, Hugo, to the cafe to collect the milk cartons.

The boxes were handed out and the children eagerly poked their straws into the delicious cow juice. With a suck or two and a mighty slurp everyone emptied their boxes.

Now it was time for the tricky bit. All the boxes need to be folded flat and then folded together so that they took up as little room as possible.  The children learned to fold the boxes by watching a video of children doing it - one girl can fold one in about ten seconds!

With some nutritious milk feeding their bodies and brains, Room Seventeen got back to work.

We are learning to write in the style of a newspaper article in writing at the moment. I think this piece follows most of the rules.
