Today we played Stiff Candles for fitness. For this game some children are chosen to be taggers. They tag the other runners who must then stand still with their legs apart. When another runner goes through the tunnel created by their legs, they are freed.
When we go out for fitness we are working on four main areas.
- Cardio-fitness - this is making your heart fitter
- Strength - increasing the strength and stability of your muscles
- Coordination - improving the way your brain controls your body
- Team work - being a fair and considerate player
By changing the space we play in, the number of taggers and the rules for releasing someone, we can change the area of fitness we are working on the most. When the space is small we have to work harder on our coordination so we don't have collisions.
