Welcome Back!

It is wonderful to be underway with the new look Room 17!
Here we are at the end of the day - still smiling!
Today we have sorted out the stationery and begun working on graphing and statistics. Our first graph was of the way we came to school. If the weather is wet tomorrow, as is forecast, we think the graph will look quite different.
We had to think of statements to make about the graph using maths language such as greater than and less than.
Our second graph was about when our birthdays are.
As you can easily see most people have their birthdays in the first half of the year.
We talked about the different labels graphs need:
  • a title that explains what information is being shown
  • a title for the Y axis (that's the one that goes up)
  • a title for the X axis (that's the one that goes across)
  • labels for each column and row
